The Kenyan chapter of the international commission of jurists has described as exemplary the decision by the judicial service commission to initiate investigations against deputy chief justice Nancy Barasa over allegations of misconduct. Similar sentiments were echoed by the Kenyans for peace with truth and justice, KPTJ. Both the ICJ and KPTJ agree the judiciary’s action will set standards on other holders of public office in the country. Consequently, the two organizations have requested Nancy Barasa to resign honorably and not wait for a tribunal to investigate her. Chief justice dr. Willy Mutunga is expected to present a petition to the president this afternoon seeking for the establishment of a tribunal to investigate Barasa’s conduct following recommendation from a judicial service commission sub-committee
