Excitement – then panic, then terrified powerlessness.Kenya’s politicians have ridden the rollercoaster of emotions since the Commission of Inquiry into the Post Election-Violence presented its report. They have said the report is a threat to peace and national cohesion. They have said it is a product of illegal processes.
Finally, they have also come round to accepting that they must implement it. One of the expectations in setting up the Commission of Inquiry into Post-Election Violence was that it would find the people responsible for gross human rights violations and recommend appropriate punishment.
